Job Title: Sr. Systems Administrator and Architect
Job Description:
Senior System Administrator and Architect (Windows 2000) This position will be responsible for design, implement and maintain a Windows 2000 Active Directory environment that spans multiple countries and business units. This position will require advanced knowledge of the active directory schema & organization, optimal server design & implementation, knowledge of database systems and working knowledge of UNIX systems. This positions includes planning for Business Continuity, system optimization, project management and expanding active directory to include more information for internal company applications. You will be required to work with systems administrators from other countries as well as users to resolve problems and improvise new ways to improve performance. You will be required to work well with others in the organization on a daily basis, both inside your team and in other departments. Responsibilities: Responsible for Windows 2000 multi-domain, multi-network, multi-location network design, management, and operations. Build, monitor and maintain a mixed larger server environment (50+). Design and maintenance of a growing Active Directory environment. Monitoring, maintenance, implementation of Veritas backup/restoration environment. Creating and managing OU architecture and group policies. User and group account administration. Designing Active directory site setups and replications across the different sites. Reporting the performance levels of the network, UNIX and Windows 2000 / Exchange2000 directory services on a monthly basis. Create and update IT documents. Develop, test and update Business Continuity plans. Review system performance looking for optimization opportunities. Working with department managers and general IT staff to analyze and resolve problems associated with technical issues. Schedules and performs preventive maintenance on all hardware systems while maintaining maintenance log of all repairs and replacements required. Advance degree a plus. Certification in Microsoft and UNIX disciplines a plus. Experience, training: Technical Experience/Skills Must have 7-10 years experience: ·User support and troubleshooting ·Designing, implementation, managing, troubleshooting, and operating medium to large Windows/UNIX environment. ·Working with Windows 2000, Active Directory, Security, and Active Directory Backup programs. ·Requires excellent understanding of Windows 2000 Server. ·Extensive experience with Windows 2000 and UNIX networking (including TCPIP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, RRAS, NFS, CIFS, Sub-netting, and LAN administration.) including account management, storage management (SAN/NAS/DAS) and backup management. Should have 5-7 years experience: ·Working with Database programs and architecture ·Working knowledge of UNIX based systems (SunOS, HP-UX and Linux) Nice to have 3-5 years experience: ·Administering LAN ·Defining, evaluating and implementing new applications ·Knowledge of and able to support Internet Information Server (IIS) and Apache web server. ·HRIS and financial systems (preferable Oracle systems) Other Experience/Skills Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem solving abilities Must have strong project management and documentation skills Successful candidates should be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical business users. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong understanding of Network Security Audits, Planning, Design, Implementation, and Intrusion Tests is a plus Mentoring other members of the team.
